The School required a more accessible yard, with
a sports court that complemented the existing one and with new educational
spaces, such as a vegetable garden area or a space that allowed for outdoor
classes.

The City Council had included the grounds in the
‘Patis Oberts’ program, allowing it to be used as another public space in the
city. Thus, it also acts as a square that hosts different neighbourhood events.
Aside from promoting sports and social spaces, it had to allow vehicles to pass
through on specific days and be easy to maintain.

Our contribution consisted of reconciling these requirements with a proposal that avoided the 'heat island' effect. Wherever possible, we replaced the concrete with permeable materials, introducing earth, sand, shade-providing trees, and shrubs that could easily grow along the fencing.
